How Training as an EFT Practitioner Shaped My Life

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, moments of triumph, and periods of doubt. It's easy to look back and focus on the things that didn't go as planned or to feel that we haven't achieved as much as we should have. Over the years, I found myself caught in this cycle, reflecting on the "what ifs" and feeling the weight of expectations. However, training as an Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) practitioner has profoundly shaped my life, giving me new perspectives and tools to not only navigate my personal challenges but also to help countless others do the same.

The Journey Begins: Training with Gary Craig

Over two decades ago, I had the incredible opportunity to train with Gary Craig, the founder of EFT. Little did I know that this experience would be a turning point in my life. Gary's teachings were more than just techniques; they were an invitation to explore the deeper aspects of emotional healing and personal growth.

During my training, I learned that EFT, often referred to as "tapping," was not just a method for alleviating physical pain or emotional distress. It was a holistic approach to well-being that could address the root causes of our fears, anxieties, and self-limiting beliefs. EFT opened my eyes to the power of the mind-body connection and how our unresolved emotions can manifest as physical symptoms or hold us back from reaching our full potential.

Embracing the Ups and Downs

Like everyone, I've faced my share of challenges—moments of self-doubt, fear of failure, and the inevitable ups and downs of life. However, EFT has given me a powerful tool to navigate these experiences. Instead of being overwhelmed by negative thoughts or emotions, I learned to use tapping to release these feelings, allowing me to see situations from a new perspective.

EFT has helped me break free from the cycle of negative self-talk and worry that can easily consume us. It has given me the clarity to recognise the lessons in difficult experiences and the strength to move forward with a positive mindset. By addressing the underlying emotional triggers, I've been able to transform challenges into opportunities for growth and self-discovery.

A New Perspective on Success

One of the most significant shifts that EFT has brought into my life is a new perspective on success. In our society, success is often measured by external achievements—career milestones, financial stability, or social status. While these are important, I've learned that true success goes beyond these markers. It's about inner peace, emotional resilience, and the ability to live authentically.

Through my journey with EFT, I've come to appreciate that success is a deeply personal and evolving concept. It's not about meeting someone else's standards but about aligning with our values and living a life that feels true to who we are. EFT has helped me release the pressure to conform to societal expectations and embrace my unique path.

Helping Others on Their Journey

Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with countless clients as an EFT practitioner. Each session has been a reminder of the transformative power of this technique. I've witnessed clients release long-held traumas, overcome deep-seated fears, and rediscover their inner strength. Being able to guide others through their healing journey has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.

Seeing the impact of EFT on my clients' lives has reinforced my belief in the importance of this work. It has given me a sense of purpose and fulfilment that goes beyond any material success. The knowledge that I can help others find relief and empowerment has been a driving force in my life, motivating me to continue learning and growing as a practitioner.

A Lifelong Commitment to Growth

Training as an EFT practitioner has been one of the most significant decisions of my life. It has shaped not only my career but also my personal journey. EFT has taught me to embrace life's challenges with grace, to see the positives even in difficult times, and to measure success by the depth of my inner peace and the quality of my relationships.

As I reflect on the past 20 years, I'm grateful for the wisdom and resilience that EFT has brought into my life. It's a journey of continuous growth, one that I'm committed to for the rest of my life. And as I continue to help others heal and thrive, I know that this path has been, and will always be, my true calling.

Conclusion

EFT has not only helped me navigate the ups and downs of life but has also empowered me to help others do the same. It's easy to look back and dwell on what didn't go right, but EFT has given me the tools to see the positives and learn from every experience. Training with Gary Craig over 20 years ago set me on a path that has shaped my life in ways I never imagined, and for that, I am deeply grateful.  EFT is one of the many tools that I now use to help myself and clients.  It fits in well with other therapies or as a stand alone therapy.
