Whilst reciting the setup statement, you would begin tapping on the 'karate chop' point - the fleshy side of your hand, between the base of the pinky finger and the wrist. Following this, you'd tap on the rest of the points in sequence while using reminder phrases to maintain focus on the issue. After several rounds of tapping and reassessing the intensity of the issue, the goal is to reduce the emotional intensity down to a negligible level.
